Libby moved from Maine to Arizona in 2022 and has been a stylist at True Few Hair Salon for two years. She genuinely loves what she does and is passionate about making people feel amazing while having a great time in her chair.

People often ask what her favorite service is, but the truth is she loves it all — from men's cuts and women's cuts to colors of all kinds. She especially gets excited about razor cuts, layered shags, men's cuts, and bobs.

Libby's favorite part of being a stylist is building genuine connections with clients of all ages and making sure every appointment is fun and meaningful. If you're looking for someone who takes your hair seriously (but not herself!), you'll get along with her perfectly.

When she's not behind the chair, you can usually find her outside with her dog, Bleu, or nose-deep in a great book!

Melissa's approach to hair is grounded in nearly two decades of experience and a deep technical understanding of cutting. Originally from New Mexico and raised in Northern Arizona, she began her career in 2006 after graduating from Artistic Beauty College in Flagstaff.

She started at Toni & Guy, where extensive cutting education gave her a strong foundation in shape, balance, and precision. Over the years, she's continued to refine that foundation while working alongside some of the Valley's most respected stylists, developing a cutting style that's both highly technical and incredibly versatile.

Melissa is especially skilled in precision cutting, bobs, shags, and alternative shapes, but she's just as comfortable creating a beautiful classic layered cut or working with long hair. Short, long, structured, undone, classic, or unconventional—her experience allows her to adapt her technique to the person sitting in her chair rather than approaching every haircut the same way.

A thorough consultation is an important part of Melissa's process. She takes the time to understand what a client wants, how their hair behaves, and what will realistically work for their lifestyle before she starts cutting. Her calm presence and technical confidence make her an especially great fit for clients who value thoughtful, detail-oriented work.

Since joining True Few, Melissa has become an integral part of the salon's experienced cutting team, bringing nearly 20 years of knowledge, versatility, and a genuine love of the craft to every appointment.

Originally from Des Moines, Iowa, Jaystan made the move to Arizona after spending three years behind the chair in Iowa. She joined True Few excited to continue developing her craft while bringing her own creative eye and personality to the salon.

Jaystan has a particularly strong eye for men's cutting, from classic, clean shapes to something with a little more edge. She also loves a classic highlight, layered cuts, and using razor techniques to create texture and movement.

Where Jaystan really loves to play is with color. She's True Few's resident enthusiast for vivid and creative color—whether that means an unexpected pop of color or a full transformation. She genuinely enjoys the process and creativity that comes with making something a little less conventional.

Jaystan brings an easygoing, open-minded energy to her chair and enjoys working with clients who want to collaborate on their hair, whether they're coming in for a great everyday cut or ready to try something completely different.

Outside the salon, you'll most likely find her hiking local trails, longboarding, attending car meets, or spending time with her boyfriend and her kitty, Kiko.

Originally from Washington State, Tehya moved to Arizona in 2020 and began her journey in the hair industry. She started at True Few as the salon's first-ever apprentice, learning hands-on from senior stylists and building a strong foundation in both technique and client care.

Today, Tehya has developed a loyal and incredibly varied clientele spanning ages, careers, backgrounds, and personal styles. That versatility has become one of her greatest strengths—she takes the time to understand the person in her chair and approaches every appointment with exceptional care, consideration, and meticulous attention to detail.

Tehya especially loves stylish layered cuts and creating interesting texture, movement, and shapes that feel individual without feeling overdone. Her color work follows a similar philosophy—beautiful, natural, and effortless. She's also a strong men's cutter, equally comfortable creating something classic and refined or more edgy and expressive.

Her strong eye, versatility, and genuine investment in her clients have become hallmarks of her work—and a big part of why so many continue to trust her with their hair.

Outside the salon, you'll likely find her hunting for vintage finds, trying new restaurants around Phoenix, or curating the perfect Spotify playlist.

Laura began her career 20 years ago in Vancouver, graduating top of her class at Marvel College. She spent her early years pursuing advanced education with Bumble and Bumble, Toni & Guy, and L'Oréal before moving to New York, where she landed a chair at Mudhoney in Soho—an iconic downtown salon known for its individuality and edge. A love of motorcycles eventually brought her to Arizona, and in 2019 she opened True Few.

Behind the chair, Laura loves the details that make hair feel personal. She's especially known for bangs, hand-painted balayage, and beautifully maintained color—and she'll happily tell you she genuinely loves a good root retouch. Her approach isn't always about dramatic change. She loves building on great hair over time, introducing subtle experimentation from appointment to appointment so her clients' hair continues to evolve while still feeling like them.

More than anything, Laura loves the relationships that come with doing hair. She believes the best results come from really knowing her clients—their hair, their lifestyle, what they've loved in the past, and what they might be ready to try next. Many of those relationships last for years, and that connection is still one of her favorite parts of being behind the chair.

As the owner of True Few, she brings that same philosophy to the salon: strong technique, individuality, genuine connection, and always leaving a little room to try something new.

Born and raised in the Valley of the Sun, Burke is a junior stylist and apprentice at True Few. After studying literature, he found his way to hair and graduated from the Aveda Institute before joining True Few to continue developing his craft through the salon's apprenticeship and education program.

Burke brings a natural sense of style and a genuine eagerness to do hair. He's especially inspired by vintage aesthetics, fashion, movies, and music—pulling from both past and present to develop his own creative point of view behind the chair.

Personable, curious, and always up for a conversation, Burke genuinely enjoys getting to know the people sitting in his chair. He's excited to work with clients, try new things, and continue building his skills with the support and education of the True Few team.

As one of True Few's junior stylists, Burke offers a select menu of services at introductory pricing while he continues his apprenticeship—making now a great time to get in his chair and grow with him.

Chase's path to becoming the manager of True Few wasn't exactly planned—but five years in, it feels like the most natural fit. Originally from Pasadena, California, he began his career in clothing design and moved to New York City in 2009, where he worked for several design houses, including as the men's accessory designer for Marc by Marc Jacobs. It was also in New York that he met Laura, beginning a friendship that would eventually turn into a creative partnership.

After six years in New York, Chase returned to Los Angeles and transitioned from design into managing a clothing factory in the Downtown Garment District. In 2020, he moved to Arizona to help Laura with the newly opened True Few, bringing his experience in design, management, and creative environments with him.

Today, Chase is involved in nearly every part of how True Few runs and feels—from day-to-day operations and client experience to the visual details, culture, and continued growth of the salon. He and Laura have worked closely to build a space that's thoughtful and well-run without taking itself too seriously.

He's proudest of the experience True Few has created for both its clients and its team, and still loves the small things that make the salon what it is: a great playlist, a new face walking through the door, and seeing someone leave feeling fantastic.
