Meet the True Few Hair Stylists in Phoenix

Libby moved from Maine to Arizona in 2022 and has been a stylist at True Few Hair Salon for two years. She genuinely loves what she does and is passionate about making people feel amazing while having a great time in her chair.

People often ask what her favorite service is, but the truth is she loves it all — from men's cuts and women's cuts to colors of all kinds. She especially gets excited about razor cuts, layered shags, men's cuts, and bobs.

Libby's favorite part of being a stylist is building genuine connections with clients of all ages and making sure every appointment is fun and meaningful. If you're looking for someone who takes your hair seriously (but not herself!), you'll get along with her perfectly.

When she's not behind the chair, you can usually find her outside with her dog, Bleu, or nose-deep in a great book!

Melissa's approach to hair is equal parts precision and instinct—shaped by nearly two decades behind the chair. Originally from New Mexico and raised in Northern Arizona, she began her career in 2006 after graduating from Artistic Beauty College in Flagstaff.

Starting at Toni & Guy, she trained extensively in cutting and developed a love for creating shape and movement in every cut. Over the years, she's worked alongside some of the Valley's most respected stylists, absorbing techniques that span both the classic and the unconventional.

Melissa has an eye for transformation—whether that means sculpting a bold, alternative cut or maintaining a timeless shape. She's just as trusted by her edgy, creative clients as she is by those seeking refined, low-maintenance styles. Her calm presence and technical skill puts her clients at ease.

Since 2021, Melissa has built a strong downtown following and has been part of the True Few team for two years, where she thrives in the creative energy. Outside the salon, she's happiest spending time with her husband and their kids.

Originally from Des Moines, Iowa, Jaystan recently made the move to Arizona and is excited to begin her next chapter with the True Few team. After spending the last three years behind the chair in Iowa, she brings a passion for creating personalized looks and helping guests feel confident and completely themselves.

Jaystan is passionate about building genuine relationships with her clients and believes great hair starts with great communication. She takes the time to listen, understand your goals, and create a look that fits both your style and lifestyle. Known for her razor cutting skills, she loves creating shaggy layers, textured cuts, choppy bobs, and fun, bold color transformations.

Whether you're looking for a subtle refresh or something completely new, Jaystan strives to create a welcoming experience where you feel heard, cared for, and confident in the final result.

Outside of the salon, you'll most likely find her hiking local trails, longboarding, attending car meets, or spending time with her boyfriend and her kitty, Kiko.

Originally from Washington State, Tehya moved to Arizona in 2020 and began her journey in the hair industry. She started at True Few as their first-ever apprentice, learning hands-on from senior stylists and developing a strong foundation in both technique and client care.

Now, three years into her career behind the chair, Tehya has built a loyal and varied clientele—drawn to her thoughtful approach, calm presence, and the attention to detail. Her services feel personal and dialed-in, with a focus on subtle, refined transformations that reflect each client's individual style.

She's especially known for her lived-in blonding and layered, organic cuts—often pulling inspiration from the '70s and '90s fashion, style, and hair references. She's got a great eye for balance and movement, and clients trust her to deliver looks that grow out beautifully and feel effortless.

Outside the salon, you'll likely find her hunting for vintage finds, trying new restaurants around Phoenix, or curating the perfect Spotify playlist.

Since trading her small Iowa hometown for the desert nine years ago, Chelsea has fully embraced the energy, culture, and creative pulse of Arizona. Four years ago, she made a bold pivot—leaving behind corporate America to pursue her longtime love of hair—and she hasn't looked back since.

Chelsea is all about connection. Her chair is the kind of space where real conversations happen, where secrets are safe, and where big transformations take shape. She's known for her razor cuts, reds, vivids, and fully customized color work—but more than anything, she loves helping people see themselves in a new light. Whether you're after a subtle shift or a total change-up, Chelsea brings care, creativity, and intention to every session.

Outside the salon, she's probably chasing live music, exploring the desert, hunting down her next favorite local coffee spot—or hanging with her beloved pug, Bee.

Laura began her career 20 years ago in Vancouver, graduating top of her class at Marvel College. She spent the early years in advanced education with Bumble and Bumble, Toni & Guy, and L'Oreal, building a strong technical foundation and a devoted clientele.

After traveling to New York for education and NYFW, she made the move full-time. She landed a chair at Mudhoney in Soho—an iconic downtown salon known for its individuality and edge—where she deepened her craft and creative voice. A love of motorcycles eventually brought her to Arizona, where she spent five years working with downtown Phoenix clients and refining her distinctive approach.

In 2019, she opened True Few, a salon built around creative freedom and real connection. It's a space where experience, artistry, and culture come together—for stylists, for clients, and for the scene they're building.

Though she's a pop culture junkie, Laura's first love is people. She's known for both her technical work and the trust she builds in her chair. As an owner, she brings that same care to her team—prioritizing collaboration, creativity, and doing things differently.

Chase Denham

Chase's path to becoming the manager of True Few wasn't planned—but five years in, it feels like the most natural fit. Originally from Pasadena, CA, he began his career in clothing design, moving to New York City in 2009. There, he worked for several design houses, including years as the men's accessory designer for Marc by Marc Jacobs. It was in NYC that he met Laura, sparking a friendship that would eventually lead to something more lasting.

After six years in New York, Chase came back to Los Angeles and transitioned into managing a clothing factory in the heart of the Downtown Garment District. In 2020—during a time of change—he moved to Arizona to work with Laura, who had just opened True Few. What started as a chance to help run the salon quickly evolved into a full creative partnership.

Since then, Chase has been involved in True Few's day-to-day operations and its growth. He's helped shape not just how the salon runs, but how it feels—a space that's intentional, inspiring, and truly fun to be in. He's proud of what has been built by the team at True Few, and loves all the small moments: a great playlist, a new face in the door, and seeing people walk out feeling fantastic.
